About the NHS Oral Contraceptive Service
At Earls Barton Pharmacy, we provide the NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service, helping eligible patients access regular oral contraception directly through the pharmacy.
The service can support you if you are starting the contraceptive pill for the first time, changing to a different type of pill, switching from another form of contraception to the pill, or continuing with your current oral contraceptive.
You may not need to make an appointment with your GP. Our pharmacy team can provide advice and, where appropriate, supply your oral contraception following a consultation with a pharmacist.
The service is free through the NHS for eligible patients in England.
Your consultation takes place privately and confidentially. The pharmacist will ask questions about your health and contraception history to help determine whether the oral contraceptive pill is suitable for you.
Who Can Use the NHS Oral Contraceptive Service?
The NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service is available to eligible patients who have started their periods and are seeking oral contraception for contraceptive purposes.
